Roles & visibility

Whether you can see a screen depends on two independent things, which are easily confused:

	Role	License (module)
Determines	what you personally may do	what your company has bought
Examples	Admin, Verwaltung	Auftragszeiterfassung, Schichtplanung
Applies to	individual users	all users of the Mandant

A missing menu entry can therefore mean two things: you are not allowed — or nobody in the company has the module.

The roles in the Verwaltung area

Role	Meaning
Admin	Sees and may do everything: all departments, all employees, all screens.
Verwaltung	Sees only the departments you lead. Intended for team leads.
Web Client	The recording page for employees. No administrative access.

As Verwaltung you see a smaller world

With the Verwaltung role (and without Admin), every list is automatically restricted to your departments. An empty Personalzeiten list therefore does not mean there are no bookings — it means none of them lie in your area.

If a person you expect is missing, they are probably not assigned to a department that you lead.

Approving is a special rule

For absence requests the department lead counts, not the role

Only these people may approve leave and absence requests:

• users with the Admin role, or
• the person registered as the lead of exactly the department of the person submitting the request.

The Verwaltung role alone is not enough — not even when the interface shows the Annehmen and Ablehnen buttons. Without the permission, nothing at all happens in the Anträge tab, without any message.

Whether someone is a lead is recorded under Stammdaten → Personal → Abteilungen, in the assignment of the employees.

The modules

Module	Without the module you lose
Auftragszeiterfassung	Auftragszeiten and Auftragsauswertung, and the order timeline in the Tagesauswertung.
Schichtplanung	Schichtplanung.

When a menu entry is missing

Work through the possibilities in this order:

1. Is it a module? Auftragszeiten and Schichtplanung require a license. Your administrators can check under Administration → System → Lizenzen.
2. Is it your role? The entire Stammdaten area is reserved for Admin.
3. Are you a lead? For approving requests it is the department lead that is decisive, not the role.

A visible button is not a permission

In several places the interface shows actions that the server then refuses — most clearly when approving requests. If an action “does nothing”, that is usually not a fault but a missing permission.
